Lion on the Loose at Westpark Shannon
There was a lion on the loose in Westpark Shannon on Friday, July 7, 2017 - a British and Irish Lion to be precise! Westpark Shannon’s new ‘In Conversation With’ series has begun with rugby legend David Wallace first up.
David's stellar playing career saw him make 203 appearances for Munster, including the winning European Cup teams of 2006 and 2008. He played 72 times for Ireland and was on the winning Irish Six Nations Grand Slam team of 2009. To cap those achievements, he also earned three test caps for the British and Irish Lions.
David was in conversation with Derrick Lynch, Sports Editor, Clare FM and what unfolded was an insightful, and often very amusing conversation about David’s playing career and his transition from rugby to the business world. David was appointed to the role of Development Manager for the Munster region of Bank of Ireland last April.
The feedback from this event was very positive. Brian O’Connell, CEO, Westpark Shannon said, “We were delighted to welcome David Wallace to Westpark, it was a privilege to have such a down to earth sporting hero launch our new ‘In Conversation With’ series, we hope to announce details of the next instalment of that series shortly. Watch this space!“
